We headed off to a friend's house for the afternoon and evening. We had daytime and nighttime fireworks to play with, watched the city's fireworks show from atop a parking garage (our tradition for a great view, and NOT crowded like the fairgrounds), and we had an awesome BBQ - tons of good food, potluck style (ribs; corn-on-the-cob; potato salad made with red and blue/purple potatoes; green salad; chips and salsa; and shortcake with blueberries, strawberries, and whipped cream... yum!)!
